Enjoy nature

The towpath: it runs along the river has been converted into a comfortable bike path: nearly 120 kilometres to connect Péronne to the bay estuary in Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. Along the way, you can enjoy picnic areas, bike racks, lunch in one of our Country Bistrots or stop in one of the lock houses.

NB: We are located a few hundred meters from the towpath.

The bike road of memory that connects Amiens to Arras is nearby.

The GR800: In 2018, the French Hiking Federation has approved a brand new GR: the GR 800. He proposes to muzzle along the River Somme, from the source in the Aisne to Fonsommes to its mouth, in Saint-Valey-sur-Somme, in the Bay of Somme. It stretches for 227 km.

Larris: From the top of these natural lookouts, we witness an exceptional natural spectacle: a mosaic of ponds, an interlacing of marshes and we let ourselves be enchanted by the winding curves of the river.

Fishing: Lovers of a day or lover of the cork, the very fishy ponds of the Somme Valley will delight all fishing enthusiasts. Fishing for white or predators,English or blow, seed or fly, there is something for everyone! Tanches, sanders, trout, pike,

Val de Somme Tourism

Discover Amiens and its treasures

The Somme is considered the cradle of Prehistoric Archaeology. It is also that of the Gothic whose flagship it houses: the Cathedral of Our Lady of Amiens

Your getaway will be cultural and festive: the cathedral,a huge stone ship, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At its feet stand the small houses of the medieval quarter of Saint-Leu,built at the water's edge. These bright facades now house bars, restaurants, antique shops and artisan shops where it is good to stroll. A journey through the floating gardens of hortillonnages is also a must.

Cultural discoveries continue at the Picardy Museum,Jules Verne House

The Somme Bay, one of the most beautiful in the world!

Ranked among the most beautiful bays in the world alongside the bays of San Francisco or Halong, somme Bay is an exceptional natural site.

Landscapes in cinemascope, an impression of the end of the world, cliffs, sands, dunes, pebbles, marshes follow one another and complement each other to compose an extraordinary landscape, far from the concrete coastlines.
Here the sky and the sea merge. Here, they say the lights change every moment. So are the colors. The Somme Bay has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for painters and writers: from Degas to Corot, from Jules Verne to Colette...
Thousands of migratory birds have taken refuge here. The largest French colony of sea calf seals has taken up residence here.
